Health and environmental risk assessment of genetically modified plants
Thematic Working Group
The Working Group on “Health and environmental risk assessment of genetically modified plants” (PGM WG), reporting to the Expert Committee (CES) on “Biotechnologies”, is tasked with undertaking expert appraisal work within a regulatory framework for:
- marketing authorisation (MA) applications for genetically modified plants and food and feed containing them, under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003;
- MA applications for genetically modified plants for cultivation, under Regulation (EC) No 1829/2003 or Directive 2001/18/EC;
- MA applications for genetically modified plants for any use other than in food or feed, under Directive 2001/18/EC;
- national authorisation applications for field trials for genetically modified plants under Directive 2001/18/EC, transposed into French law in the French Environmental Code (Articles L. 533-3 to L. 533-3-6, L. 533-9, R. 533-1 to R. 533-19).
